Teenager Behind NY Times Blog Link Generator

I think it’s been around a while now, but I just found it myself. Aaron Swartz, the teenage hacker who co-authored RSS 1.0 when he was 14, has set up and is hosting a special site where you can generate blog safe links to any New York Times story for posting to your blog.

I am always worried about what might happen to a daily newspaper link posted to my blog over time, since most papers only offer their stories for free for a limited time, and then move the stories to their archives, at which time the link usually goes dead. This little tool from Aaron is very cool, and it’s encouraging to ses that the New York Times recognizes the value of giving bloggers reliable links.
