Singapore PR Students Discuss Singapore Girl Controversy

Here’s a photo of the fist ever PR Geek Dinner in Singapore, organized online with professor Michael Netzley who teach public relations at Singapore Management University. During the course of my trip — I was there conducting my New Media PR Boot Camp for government agencies and NGOs — there were numerous articles in the Straights Times about whether or not Singapore Airlines should dump their “mascot,” who many believe is not up to date with the times.
I passed around my iRiver and let each of the students — all of who happened to by female — and asked whether or not they think the Singapore Girl was still relevant. You can hear what they said by downloading the MP3 and listening for yourself.

I also want to thank Kathy O’Brien of Red Shoe Communications in Singapore for making the evening even more enjoyable by joining us.
