Rupert Murdoch Tells Newspaper Editors About Importance of Linking Text to Video

According to a front page story in today’s Financial Times, Rupert Murdoch told a room full of newspaper editors yesterday that they must embrace the Internet or risk losing even more ad dollars to online media. In the News Corp. chairman’s view, daily print publishers should also look for ways to:

  • Incorporate blogs into news coverage
  • Link text to video online
  • Create more original — rather than repurposed — content just for the Net

A complete, unedited transcript of his speech is also available online.
