Podcasting: Religious Sermons

If you think about it, pastors, priests, and rabbis can considered among history’s first public relations professionals. They were there to inform the public about the Ten commandments and the word of God, and also to shape the moral views of a community by distinguishing the differences between right and wrong, good and evil, sinning and atoning.

Today, they are still preaching to the public about these things, as well as informing you about when the next pot-luck dinner is, holiday celebrations and other bulletin items.

So it comes as little surprise that a few church leaders are podcasting their sermons as a way to reach new parishioners as well as help out those who can’t make it to the church on Sundays.

This new trend called “Godcasting” has become rapidly more popular with the number of sermons available at PodcastAlley.com growing from 177 to 474 since July, giving new meaning to the phrase, “God is everywhere.”
