NY Times to Launch Poker Column

According to an ad in today’s “Sunday Styles” section, the Times will debut a weekly Poker column, scribed by James McManus, in their Saturday Sports section.

A testament to the card games somewhat recent surge in popularity — thanks largely to television coverage that has allowed viewers to see how world’s top gamblers play their cards through cameras buried inside the tables that show cards laying face down — the new column will be “filled with game-playing tips, reviews of instructional books and insights into poker’s lore and lingo…”
