New Media Masters to Speak at my New Media PR Boot Camp at UCLA this Wednesday Night

If you’re in Los Angeles next Wed., Feb. 21 at 8pm, I’ve assembled a panel of new media experts to talk about how the internet is changing the MSM business. The panel is part of the New Media Boot Camp I teach at UCLA.

Discussion topics will include the future of the daily newspaper industry, the rise of user generated media, competitive issues between news syndicates and citizen journalists, coping with online copyright infringement, profitability of online news media, how to monetize online video, the future of blogging, the benefits of podcasting, challenges of blog comment moderation, fake grassroots or “astroturfing” initiatives, the onslaught of mainstream media blogs and the relationship between web presence and reputation.

We’re in 147 Dodd Hall, which is close to Royce Hall. The room sits 200, and about half of those seats are taken by enrolled students. So there is extra space, and I thought I’d reach out to a few industry contacts to see who might like to attend. The closest parking is at Lot 2. It’s about a 7-minute walk from there to Dodd Hall.
