GlobeTel Takes PR War to Street

New York media blog Gawker reported yesterday that GlobeTel Communications Corp. went on the offensive against the New York Post and their business columnist, Christopher Byron, by sending out a press release responding to Byron’s criticism of the company.

While that’s not unusual, one method of distributing the press releas was.

A press release along with another flyer condemning Byron (with his picture) were posted on the Muni-Meters outside the News Corporation building.

The releas includes a quote from CEO Timothy Huff who said, “It appears the NY Post is at it again. The New York tabloid is now trying to create controversy where there is none.”

The flyer takes a potshot at Byron saying, “Christopher Byron is one NY Post columnist embodying so much of what is wrong with journalism, that they ought to make it a case study in journalism schools. “
