Debra Brown Choreography

Schwartzman PR is a Los Angeles-based public relations firm founded by Eric Schwartzman.

Renowned choreographer Debra Brown received an Emmy for Outstanding Choreography at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles for her efforts as the creative force behind the Cirque du Soleil's tribute to special effects at the 74th Annual Academy Awards®. Paula Abdul (right) presented the Emmy.

The tribute brought together 31 of the Cirque's leading acrobats, aerialists and contortionists who performed their interpretation of memorable special effects shots projected behind them on a rear screen. The four-minute spectacle also featured acrobats suspended by bungee cords who performed above the audience at the Kodak Theater.

Brown, who joined the Cirque du Soleil in 1987, is the first choreographer ever to work for Cirque du Soleil, and is the choreographer responsible for "O" at Bellagio in Las Vegas and many other of the cirque's resident and touring shows.
