Geography
Beverly Hills, California is situated east of Century City on a hilly terrain with elevations ranging from around 250 to 1,020 feet above sea level. My wife and I both went to Beverly Vista elementary and middle school there. The city covers an area of approximately 5.7 square miles and is located in the western part of Los Angeles County.
The topography of Beverly Hills is characterized by flats, canyons, and rolling hills, which provide scenic views of the surrounding area. My mom grew up in Benedict Canyon, which is a Beverly Hills Post Office, but not considered a Beverly Hills address.
Climate
Beverly Hills' Mediterranean climate, a gem of its geography, beckons with a promise of outdoor adventure all year round. Winter in the city is benign, with daytime temperatures hovering around a comfortable 65°F, dropping to a pleasantly cool high-40s at night. From November through April, the city welcomes the wet season, punctuated by the occasional tempestuous rainstorm.
Come summer, Beverly Hills is a dry, hot oasis, with daytime temperatures averaging around 85°F and dropping to the balmy mid-60s when the sun sets. May through October is a dry season marked by clear skies and low humidity levels, a period in which the city's vibrant outdoor culture comes to life. Concerts, festivals, and outdoor dining experiences thrive in the temperate conditions.
Beverly Hills' temperate climate is also ideal for cultivating a wide variety of exotic and local flora. Palms, citrus trees, and flowering shrubs, all flourish in the city, and contribute to the area's scenic beauty.
