Beattie Rants High and Mighty

Russell Beattie, Yahoo’s online evangelist — who essentially operates as in-house PR via what is often nothing more than a house organ blog — lashes out with a sophomoric rant against the entire public relations industry.

Frankly, I’m blown away Yahoo would have a loose canon like that on staff. He’s a liability.

Perhaps the fact that the company employs people with such poor judgment is one of the reasons they seem to have lost their edge to Google.

Anil Dash, on the other hand, poses a much better argument, but neither do it as well as James Fallows did in the Industry Standard years ago.

Adpulse chronicles the ongoing spat between Beattie and PR bloggers Steve Rubel and B.L. Ochman.
