Global VR is a privately-held manufacturer of coin-operated video games and virtual reality game systems. The company also produces and sells interchangeable software packages for its game systems. Beginning in 2002 its games will generate additional recurring revenue from Internet-linked tournament play. Global VR has sold games and game systems in North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. The company’s products have consistently ranked among the industry’s top earners.
Company History:
Global VR was founded in 1998 by company president Milind Bharvirkar. Its first product was VR Vortek™, the world’s first walk-up, coin-operated virtual reality game system, which today serves as a platform for three different Global VR game titles. In 2000 Global VR acquired Interactive Light, Inc., producer of several popular coin-op games (including category leaders Kick It!™ and Home Run Derby™), and owner of numerous important game industry patents. In 2001 Global VR signed a licensing agreement with Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) to produce coin-op versions of EA Sports’ Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf games. Also in 2001 Global VR signed a licensing agreement with Rage Software (FTSE: RGE) to create a coin-op version of Rage’s Incoming™ PC game for Global VR’s Vortek game platform.

Global VR’s customers include Namco Cybertainment, operator of over 75,000 games at over 2,000 sites worldwide; Dave and Busters, the premier U.S.-based chain of upscale restaurant-entertainment venues; and GameWorks.
Development Partners: Global VR has product development agreements with Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS), Activision Inc. (NASDAQ: ATVI) and Infogrames.
