Biography of an Artist


Celia Colton acquired her skills as a portrait photographer as Peggy Sirota’s assistant shooting Matthew McConaughey, Julia Roberts, Goldie Hawn, Julia Louis Dreyfus and John Cusack for Vanity Fair, Vogue, GQ, and Rolling Stone. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Celia graduated from UCLA with an Art History degree. She studied in Rome Italy for one year at Dante Alighieri focusing on Italian Renaissance Painting. Her photography has been featured twice at exhibitions at Hollywood’s prestigious Smashbox Studios and Photo Impact, also in Hollywood. She won an award for her innovative digital imagery at the Los Angeles County Fair’s Photography show. The learning channel documented her in a day in the life of Celia Colton Photography, airing throughout the year 2000 on television. Currently Celia Colton (aka Celia Schwartzman) focuses on capturing the essence of her subjects on film and her shoots are of children, families, celebrities, weddings, corporate portraits and rock and roll.
