This course is designed for previous attendes of the Social Media Boot Camp, or for individuals already familiar with blog platforms, blogger relations, podcasting, RSS, search engine optimization, social bookmarking services, social networks and microblogging.
Attendees should bring their own laptop with wireless internet access capability, be able to log onto a nonsecure wireless hotspot, and be comfortable pointing, clicking, dragging and dropping in a Windows environment or Mac. This is taught on a PC, but as long as you're comfortable with that, it's fine if you want to use a Mac. Also, since the demonstrations are conducted on Microsoft Windows XP, Vista users should also be prepared to make the necessary adjustments.
Participants will also need the ability to access the Internet in the absence of their own secure proxy server, should have Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or higher, Firefox 3 or higher, Flash Player 9 or higher and a secondary Google Gmail account that can be used to sign up for web-based services and which will not interfere with their productivity if excessive unsolicited email accumulates at that address.
